These photos represent the personal style I'm cultivating. Urban images (mostly in New York) with an abstract quality not, by and large, created in Photoshop. Most of them include an intrusion of the natural into the urban, the random into the ordered and square or haze and mist obscuring the straight and rational. Often the abstraction comes from shooting too close to the subject to see immediately what it is, creating a trompe l'oeil effect. I'm seeking the immanent and transcendent within the mundane, the photographic equivalent of the Joycean epiphany.
